What is Christmas?

We want you to have fun at the carnival but what is Christmas really all about?

The Miracle of Jesus’ Birth

Christmas is more than lights, gifts, and traditions. At its core, it’s the miraculous story of how God stepped into our broken world as a baby—Jesus Christ. Born in a humble manger over 2,000 years ago, His arrival was the fulfillment of centuries of prophecy. The angels proclaimed, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:14). His birth brought light to a world longing for redemption, offering hope to all who would receive Him.

Our Deep Need for a Savior

The world Jesus entered is much like ours today—full of weariness, turmoil, and brokenness. Just as the people of His time longed for rescue, we too face the reality of sin that separates us from God. No amount of good deeds or effort can bridge the gap. But God, in His infinite love, sent His Son to do what we could never do. Christmas reminds us that we need a Savior, and Jesus came to meet that need.

The Story Beyond the Manger

Jesus didn’t stay a baby. He grew up and lived a perfect, sinless life. His mission wasn’t just to live among us but to die for us. On the cross, He bore the weight of our sins, offering Himself as the ultimate sacrifice. But the story didn’t end there. Three days later, He rose from the grave, defeating sin and death and offering us the greatest gift—eternal life. His resurrection means that hope isn’t just for this life but for eternity.

The Gift of Eternal Life

Through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, we are invited into a restored relationship with God. His gift of forgiveness and salvation is available to all who believe in Him. This is the true meaning of Christmas: God’s love reaching down to rescue us and bring us peace, joy, and hope.

A Call to Rejoice and Respond

This Christmas, as you reflect on the miracle of Jesus’ birth, remember the full story. Jesus came not just to be with us but to save us. He is still calling today, offering the gift of abundant life. Will you receive it?

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given... and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

Let this season be a time of true rejoicing—a weary world finding hope in the Savior who came, lived, and died to set us free
