Welcome to Children's Ministry
At Hessel Church, we believe the Bible should never be boring, we serve an amazing God, and that He loves kids just as much as grownups. We want kids to see how God's Word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to Him, to live for Him, and to build friendships that will last forever.
On Sunday Mornings
Drop Off & Check-in
For your child’s safety, all children must be dropped off and picked up by a parent or guardian. Check-in starts at 9:45 a.m. in the lower level of the Children’s Ministry Building for 2-year-olds through 5th grade. Babies from birth to 23 months can check in at the nursery, which is located in the lobby of the main sanctuary.
Safety
Your child’s safety is incredibly important to us, and we are committed to creating a safe environment through our safety team, trained volunteers (all have been background checked), check-in and out process, and video surveillance.
AWANA
AWANA is our discipleship club where children ages two years-5th grade can memorize verses, study, and learn life lessons from the Bible. It is so important that we train up our children to follow Jesus and learn to hide His Word in their hearts. AWANA helps kids to build their lives on the solid, sure foundation of God’s Word.
Our AWANA leaders guide children through their handbooks and teach them how to understand and apply the Bible to their lives. They also participate in fun theme nights and contests and make new friends while playing exciting games!
AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15, which says, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
Child Dedication
Child Dedication is a public commitment parents make before God, their family, and the church to raise their child in a God-honoring way. It provides the parents with an opportunity to express their desire to lead and spiritually nurture their child in cooperation with the Holy Spirit so their child will develop a desire to love God and love others.
