CHILDREN

Children's

ministry

At Hessel Church, we believe the Bible should never be boring, that we serve an amazing God, and He loves kids just as much as grownups. We want kids to see how God's Word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to Him, to live for Him, and to build friendships that will last forever.

Sunday Morning

Children's Ministry:

We hope your kids will join us for age-appropriate classes in which the Bible is communicated in fun, creative and relevant ways!

Drop Off & Check-in:
For your child's safety, all children need to be dropped off and picked up by a parent or guardian. Check-in starts at 8:45am in the lower level of the Children's Ministry Building for 2 yrs old -5th grade. Babies from birth to 23 months can check in at the nursery located in the lobby of the main sanctuary.

Volunteer

We are always looking for volunteers for our Sunday morning children's classes. Is God calling you to be a part of what He is doing with our next generation? You could be the one that God uses to help make an eternal impact in a child's life!

Safety:

Your child's safety is incredibly important to us, and we are committed to creating a safe environment through our safety team, trained volunteers (all have been background checked), and video surveillance.

AWANA

AWANA is our discipleship club where children ages 3 years-5th grade can memorize verses, study, and learn life lessons from the Bible. It is so important that we train up our children to follow Jesus and learn to hide His Word in their hearts. AWANA helps kids to build their lives on the solid, sure foundation of God's Word.

Our AWANA leaders guide children through their handbooks and teach them how to understand and apply the Bible to their lives. They also get to participate in fun theme nights, contests and make new friends while playing exciting games!

AWANA stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed," and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15, which says, "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."

Child Dedication

Child Dedication is a public commitment parents make before God, their family, and the church, to raise their child in a God-honoring way. It provides the parents an opportunity to express their desire to lead and spiritually nurture their child in cooperation with the Holy Spirit, so their child will develop a desire to love God and love others.

If you have a young child and would like to take part in the dedication service please fill out the form, and we will let you know when the next Child Dedication service will take place.

CHRISTY MILLER

My husband and I have been married for 30 years and we have 2 children, ages 22 & 25. We have both joyfully served together in Hessel’s Children’s Ministry for over 20 years! I became the Children’s Ministry Director in 2016 and have been so blessed by the families and volunteers God has placed in my path through this ministry.

Each week we hope to create a fun, safe, and loving place for kids to build relationships, learn important truths from the Bible, and experience how much God loves them! I pray our children will grow to love others, invite their friends to join them, learn to serve in the church and most of all to be saved! I am excited to see how the Lord will continue to use Hessel Church to reach the next generation!
